The demand for teachers, especially supply teachers, remains at a high level in London and there are a wide range of opportunities in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools. We provide an excellent rate of pay; supply rates are dependent upon your experience, the length of the contract and the challenges involved.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • You must have a teaching qualification which is recognised in the UK, and must be in possession of a valid work permit or licence before arrival in the country. If English is not your native language, then you must be able to demonstrate a high level of communication skills, both written and oral. Interviews for longer term contracts and permanent roles are always conducted face to face, and often include an observed teaching session.
  • CRIMINAL RECORDS BUREAU and POLICE clearance - candidates arriving from overseas must be in possession of a valid police clearance from their home country. However this is not a substitute for an Enhanced Disclosure, which is necessary for all school appointments. This clearance must be applied for by an employer (either the school or your agency, through the CRB. You cannot apply for a disclosure yourself.
  • QUALIFIED TEACHER STATUS (QTS) - UK trained teachers achieve QTS by completing a period of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), which enables them to meet the professional standards for QTS, a formal set of skills and qualities required to be an effective teacher. This qualification entitles a teacher to work in state maintained and special schools. EU qualified teachers can apply for positions in the same way as UK trained teachers. If you are qualified as an overseas trained teacher (OTT) outside the EU, then you may be eligible to work in England in state schools as a temporary teacher without qualified teacher status (QTS) for up to 4 years.
